After retouching the paint on the brackets, I then bolted the assembly in place.
Repair of the glasswork required that I remove part of the transom toe-rail. After installing the new chain-plate, I retouched
the paint on the transom and behind the toe-rail and reinstalled the teak trim.
The backstay must have a clear path under the push-pit to the clevis pin on the chain-plate. This was done by making
the chain-plate as short as possible.

I've had a season of use with the new chainplate. There is no sign of stress on
the transom, even when the backstay adjuster is cranked down to 3500 lbs.
